Referring to the sale of more than Rs 1.5 crore in a single day at the Khadi store in Connaught Place, Delhi, on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti earlier this month, the Prime Minister said, “10 years ago, the sale of Khadi products in the country was huge. It was hardly less than Rs 30 thousand crore, today it has increased to around Rs 1.25 lakh crore. He said that the increase in the sale of Khadi means that the benefits from it reach various sections of the society from city to village. Reaches. Modi said that weavers, handicraft artisans, farmers, Ayurvedic planters and cottage industries get the benefit of this sale.

Be sure to buy local products.

Describing this as the ‘strength’ of the ‘Vocal for Local’ campaign, the Prime Minister urged the countrymen to buy local products whenever they go on tourism or pilgrimage. He urged people to keep some part of their total travel budget for purchasing local products. Referring to the upcoming festivals, Modi called on people to give priority to local products in their shopping and said the vision is not limited to just buying goods from small shopkeepers and street vendors. He said, ‘Today India is becoming a big manufacturing center in the world.

The Prime Minister suggested using digital transactions while purchasing products. He said, ‘When you brighten your Diwali with products made in India, made by Indians and fulfill every small need of your family locally, then the sparkle of the festival will increase. Also, the life of the local people will become wonderful. With this, India will also become self-reliant.

He told that on this day, not only the Amrit Kalash Yatra but also the Amrit Mahotsav of Independence which has been going on for the last two and a half years will be concluded. Modi said that the foundation of a big nationwide organization called ‘Mera Yuva Bharat’ is being laid, which will be inaugurated on October 31.
